In Unusual Move, Progressive Democrat To Respond To Biden’s Congress Address

As the saying goes, a stopped clock is right twice a day.

And in this case, Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) is the stopped clock.

You may recall that name from the beginning of the month when the Democratic congressman pulled a fire alarm in a Capitol office building — then claimed he thought it would open a door.

But on Tuesday, he was exactly right when he called out the Chicago chapter of Black Lives Matter (BLM) for a since-deleted tweet.

The account tweeted a graphic with the words, “That is all that is it!” and “I STAND WITH PALESTINE.”

It included a depiction of someone with what appeared to be a paragliding sail and a Palestinian flag.

BLM Chicago just deleted this tweet but not before 10,000 people liked it. And not one of them was a Republican. pic.twitter.com/l0hjYLhKbJ

The tweet was utterly abhorrent in its imagery after Hamas terrorists paraglided into a music festival in Israel and killed hundreds of civilians.

It is not really clear what other message they thought they were sending than supporting a massacre.

The post was so atrocious that Bowman couldn’t ignore it, writing on X, “Disgusting. This promotes an act in which innocent civilians were killed. Babies. We need to stand for human life and collective humanity.”

“This does the opposite,” he added.

Disgusting.

This promotes an act in which innocent civilians were killed. Babies.

We need to stand for human life and collective humanity.

This does the opposite. https://t.co/l5IrfD4QBc

The BLM group has since deleted the post and replaced it with a message that states, “Yesterday we sent out msgs that we aren’t proud of. We stand with Palestine [and] the people who will do what they must to live free.”

“Our hearts are with, the grieving mothers, those rescuing babies from rubble, who are in danger of being wiped out completely,” it added.

That post is not much better as it’s not clear how murdering hundreds of civilians and then running back to the Gaza Strip does anything to advance Palestinians’ ability to live freely.

But at least there are some progressive Democrats who are able to condemn such messages.
