ABC’s “The View” is taking aim at New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) for his warning about the influx of illegal immigrants into the city.

On Friday, the co-hosts discussed Adams’ warning that the influx of illegal immigrants to New York City could “destroy” it.

“A little dramatic isn’t it?” Joy Behar asked.

Ana Navarro quipped, “He’s got a flare drama.”

Still, Behar noted Adams has criticized the Biden administration for what he views as a lack of support from the federal government.

“Republicans love this because this is right up their alley for someone like a New York sanctuary city to be complaining about migrant problems.

Sunny Hostin chimed in, “I thought this country with its big Statue of Liberty… is supposed to be the country that accepts people. And I’m disappointed in Mayor Adams.”

She noted the percentage of the workforce in the U.S. that was not born in the country before adding, “Immigrants aren’t coming here just to play around. They’re coming here for a better life, and I think we should try to provide it.”

Later in the segment, Navarro suggested migrants should be settled in communities around the U.S. to help alleviate the strain on resources.

Behar suggested incidents of waves of migrants arriving in parts of the country will “only get worse with global warming and climate change because people can’t live in certain parts of this world.”

During a town hall event on Wednesday, Adams warned the wave of migrants entering the city will “destroy New York City.”

“I’m gonna tell you something, New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I didn’t see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this,” he said, adding, “This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.”

Adams noted there are 10,000 migrants entering the city every month and that 110,000 have arrived since 2022.

New York City has received $140 million for migrant shelters, however, Adams has argued the federal government is not providing enough support for the city.
