The daughter of Larry Birkhead and late model Anna Nicole Smith hit another milestone.
On Thursday, Birkhead took to his Instagram page to share a birthday message for his daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, who turned 17.
“Happy 17th Birthday Dannielynn! I am so proud of you in each and every way. Wishing you the best day ever!” he wrote in the caption of a video showcasing a series of photos of the teen growing up.
Additionally, he described her as “funny, crazy smart, pretty and just about everything I could ever imagine.”
He also mentioned how proud Smith would be of her.
“Happy Birthday! Love Dad By the way, when you asked me if you could live in my basement forever. I said yes, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you there aren’t any basements in Florida,” he joked.

Smith died in 2007 at the age of 39 of an accidental overdose when Dannielynn was 5 months old.
In May, Birkhead spoke to People before attending the 34th annual Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala along with his daughter.
For the event, Dannielynn paid tribute to her late mother by wearing a blouse featuring the photographs from her Guess campaigns along with a black tulle skirt.
“She’s showing off her fashion sense but at the same time paying tribute to her mom,” he shared.
Birkhead continued, “It came from a Guess collection that sold out and she [Dannielynn] saved it for a special occasion.”
He also spoke about keeping some of Smith’s article of clothing for their daughter in storage.
“There’s some T-shirts and different things she fits in but there’s also some things that she’ll say ‘Dad, no thanks, that’s not my style,'” he said.
He added, “There’s also some things that would have to wait till later. Some things are a bit more revealing and low-cut. Plus, she was a variety of sizes, so she’s got every size covered that you can imagine.”
