Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy fired shots at his political opponents, saying that he was the only person not “bought and paid for.”

In a response to a question from the moderators about whether or not the candidates believed human behavior was affecting climate change, Ramaswamy said the climate change agenda is a “hoax.”

“Let us be honest, as Republicans, I’m the only person on this stage who isn’t bought and paid for so I can say this,” Ramaswamy said. “The climate change agenda is a hoax. The climate change agenda is a hoax.”

“The reality is, the anti-carbon agenda is the wet blanket on our economy,” Ramaswamy said. “And, so the reality is more people are dying of bad climate change policies than they are of actual climate change.”

The moderators shared a video from Alexander Diaz at the Catholic University of America in which he brought up that young people feel strongly about the issue of climate change. Diaz asked the candidates how they would “calm their fears that the Republican Party doesn’t care about climate change.”
