A pastor based in Louisiana praised actor Kirk Cameron and his publisher, Brave Books, for inspiring the upcoming national “See You at the Library” day.

Dr. Brad Jurkovich, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Louisiana in Bossier City, spoke to Fox News Digital about the event taking place on August 5.

“We are so excited to stand with so many people of faith across America with our ‘See You at the Library’ event,'” he stated.

Jurkovich revealed he hosted a similar event at a local library called “Pastor Story Hour.”

“It was really well received by both the host library here in Bossier City and by the families who attended,” he shared.

Furthermore, Jurkovich said he believes, “People are encouraged and strengthened when they see others stand up and share truth and hope.”

He assured the anticipated event is a “gathering that will be a fun, creative and awesome way to speak truth and hope to our generation of children.”

“It will let them know that our faith in God is real and that our country has been blessed over the years when we honor God and His values in our lives, homes, communities, and nation,” he said.

Jurkovich also acknowledged the people who “don’t value the Christian faith in America” but said it shouldn’t be used as an excuse for Christians to “stay silent or on the sidelines.”

In a press release for the “movement” intended to “turn our nation back to God” it extended an invitation to “all families who love God and love America to gather at our local public libraries to pray, sing, and read BRAVE Books and other books of virtue.”

In a phone interview with Fox News Digital, Cameron spoke about his new children’s book “Pride Comes Before the Fall,” released on June 1.

“With a nation that is so saturated with the idea that pride is a good thing, the Bible warns us that pride is the deadliest of the seven deadly sins. Before greed, gluttony, sloth, wrath, envy, and lust – is pride,” he explained.

Cameron alleged pride is “the mother vice that gives birth to all the other dangerous things on the list.”

“I want to teach children the importance of being humble and kind,” Cameron said of his new book.
