Actress Candace Cameron Bure denied allegations she wanted the first queer character on “Fuller House” removed from the show.

In a statement to People, Bure, 47, addressed the claims made by actor Miss Benny, 24, who identifies as a transgender woman.

“I never asked Miss Benny’s character to be removed from ‘Fuller House’ and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to not have queer characters on the show,” Bure, who played DJ Tanner on the Netflix show’s revival of “Full House,” said.

She added, “’Fuller House’ has always welcomed a wide range of characters. I thought Miss Benny did a great job as ‘Casey’ on the show.”

Bure also shared she and Miss Benny “didn’t share any scenes together, so we didn’t get a chance to talk much while filming on set.”

“I wish Miss Benny only the best,” she concluded.

This came after Miss Benny made a TikTok video on Thursday recalling the alleged incident to his followers.

He revealed “one of the Tanner sisters” was  “very publicly not for the girls.”

“I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person allegedly was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show,” he continued.

Furthermore, Miss Benny said he was also somewhat “warned and prepared” that the actress’s fan base “might be encouraged” to “target” him.

In the video, he did not name names but did hashtag Bure’s name in the caption.

Bure is no stranger to controversy. In 2022, she responded to backlash she received for telling  The Wall Street Journal in an interview she moved from the Hallmark Channel to Great American Family (GAC Family) because she thinks “that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” excluding same-sex couples in its movies.

“All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
