“Passion of the Christ” actor Jim Caviezel made bold statements regarding Christianity.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Caviezel, 54, claimed, “The problem is that modern-day Christianity has become so weak and useless.”

He stated “modern-day Christians” fear the devil more than they fear God.

“God could destroy the devil without a glance, but he looks to us to make a decision,” Caviezel added.

The actor also said he believes Americans are rejecting God in our universities and religion and it has contributed to “moral decay” in society.

“So, you have moral depravity. I mean, moral decay everywhere, falling apart,” he explained.

Caviezel noted, “Laws don’t mean anything anymore.”

“We don’t have a First Amendment…There’s no such thing as free speech anymore. You’re absolutely destroyed everywhere, and the media throws out everybody’s a racist,” he continued.

Caviezel, who starred in the 2022 film “Sound of Freedom” about human trafficking, revealed why he only chooses movies with a “moral redemption.”

“The purpose God gave me in this business, I wanted to bring his light,” he told Fox News Digital.

The actor added, “And it doesn’t mean I’m always his light into an industry. And I wanted to do that, but it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to play the devil in movies.”

While explaining what roles he will take on, Caviezel said, “But the math is so wrong now.”

“It just seems [the devil’s] evil is winning right now,” he stated.

Furthermore, Caviezel acknowledged he “may not have any friends around me when this is over” but he will still “have [God” who “won’t leave” him.

“I’ll be looking at him at that point. When I do leave this earth, at least I gave the best I could from God, you know, and my Father in heaven,” he said.

Caviezel said he wants the world to know he loves God.

“And maybe that’s evil to them. Not to me, but to them,” he said.
