CNBC notes the news came after The Atlantic published “an unflattering 15,000-word profile of Licht.”

The outgoing CEO faced criticism over CNN’s town hall with former President Donald Trump last month.

Additionally, the network’s ratings dropped 25% in May compared to the previous year, as the New York Post reports, citing Nielsen.
