“What is a Woman?” has reached the top spot for streamed movies on Rotten Tomatoes a year after its release.

On Sunday, the film, a documentary on gender identity, became No. 1 under the movie review site’s June 2023 “Best Documentary Movies at Home” category. “What Is a Woman?” was spearheaded by the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh and was originally released on June 1, 2022, according to IMDB.com.

Following the film’s newfound success, the Daily Wire+ host Dr. Jordan B. Peterson praised Walsh on Twitter.

“Congrats [Matt Walsh] for your well -deserved (sic) receipt of this year’s Streisand Effect Grand Prize,” he wrote.

Twitter owner Elon Musk gave his stamp of approval on the film via his Twitter page last week.

“Every parent should watch this,” he wrote.

In a separate tweet, he added, “Consenting adults should do whatever makes them happy, provided it does not harm others, but a child is not capable of consent, which is why we have laws protecting minors.”

On June 1, the film was streamed for free on Twitter and garnered over 100 million views.

This came after Musk responded to accusations he limited the visibility of the film due to the film allegedly violating Twitter’s rules against “hateful conduct.” However, Musk claimed this move “was a mistake by many people at Twitter.”

“Whether or not you agree with using someone’s preferred pronouns, not doing so is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws. I should note that I do personally use someone’s preferred pronouns, just as I use someone’s preferred name, simply from the standpoint of good manners,” he shared.

Musk continued, “However, for the same reason, I object to rude behavior, ostracism or threats of violence if the wrong pronoun or name is used.”

He said the restrictions would be removed the next day so that those following the Daily Wire could see the film on Twitter. Still, the movie would not be “recommended to non-followers” or advertised.

“Commenting & deliberate sharing will be allowed. Sensitive content just won’t be pushed to people unless they ask for it or a friend sends it to them,” he wrote.
