Former President Donald Trump predicted his collection of digital trading cards would sell quickly.

And it seems he was right.

On Friday morning, cryptocurrency news site Coindesk reported all 45,000 of the initial cards had sold out.

The cards were sold for $99 each, which means Trump raked in nearly $4.5 million from the sales.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump wrote, “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here!”

“These limited edition cards feature amazing ART of my Life [and] Career! Collect all of your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting,” he continued.

He argued they would make a “great Christmas gift” and be sold out “very quickly.”

The website explained the digital cards are “just like baseball cards, but you collect them digitally, on your computer or phone.”

“All you need is an email address and a credit card to start collecting 1, 10, 20 or 100. Instantly become part of a new league of collectors,” it continued.

Axios’ Herb Scribner shared a few screenshots of examples of the digital cards.

Former President Trump has announced a new collection of digital trading cards, available for $99 each.

Trump said the cards are "very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting."

The announcement was mocked online. And even some of his supporters criticized it.

Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck wrote, “Hard truth time: This is not good. We’re facing a threat to civilization from far left Marxist extremists. Teasing NFT cards as a major announcement is not the kind of fight people want to see now. These are dark times. Love the guy but this turns many off.”

“Whoever’s advising this stuff is a good idea needs to be fired. This is NOT 2016. We’re in an economic crisis, fighting total cultural degradation, fighting to save our country and facing an enemy that wants to control our lives. People want to see fight right now, not NFT cards,” he added.

Former White House advisor Steve Bannon shredded the cards during a segment of his “War Room” show as he said, “I can’t do this anymore.”

“He’s one of the greatest presidents in history, but I gotta tell you: whoever — what business partner and anybody on the comms team and anybody at Mar-a-Lago – and I love the folks down there – but we’re at war, they oughta be fired today,” he added.
