Employees at Twitter were alerted that they temporarily will not have access to the company’s buildings after Elon Musk issued a warning about committing to his vision of the company.
Zoë Schiffer of Platformer shared the news on Twitter Thursday.
“Twitter just alerted employees that effective immediately, all office buildings are temporarily closed and badge access is suspended. No details given as to why,” Schiffer tweeted.
She added, “We’re hearing this is because Elon Musk and his team are terrified employees are going to sabotage the company. Also, they’re still trying to figure out which Twitter workers they need to cut access for.”

Schiffer reported the offices “will reopen on November 21st. In the meantime: ‘Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.'”
She continued, “So far no Twitter employees have been deactivated — even those who’ve publicly resigned. Musk and his team only collected the list of “yes’s” — employees who said they want to be part of Twitter 2.0. They’re still trying to track who is out.”

The report comes days after Insider reported that Musk told employees in an email they have to commit to his “extremely hardcore” vision for Twitter or they will be laid-off.
The email told staff they are required to work “long hours at a high intensity” in order to “build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0.”
According to Insider, all employees were required to agree to the new workflow by 5:00 p.m. ET Thursday or they will be let go and given three months of severance.
The subject line of the email was: “A fork in the road.”
“If you are sure that you want to be part of the new Twitter, please click yes on the link below,” the email stated.
Musk explained “only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” and engineering will be the top priority.
He added, “Those writing great code will constitute the majority of our team and have the greatest sway.”
Users on the platform are beginning to wonder weather the platform will survive.
