Late singer Michael Jackson’s eldest son Prince Jackson talked in an interview over the weekend about his foundation for those who are grieving a loved one.

On October 28, Prince Jackson hosted the 2022 Thriller Night Halloween Party at the Jackson family home in California.

The 25-year-old attended the event with his girlfriend, Molly Schirmang, and the pair dressed up as Mario and Princess Peach. His younger siblings, Blanket “Bigi” Jackson and Paris Jackson were also in attendance.

Prince Jackson spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the annual fundraiser for both the Heal Los Angeles Foundation and the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation which he called a “good cause.”

“Both of them work with children. The Dee Dee Jackson Foundation specifically works with grieving and people who have lost a parent or a significant person in their life,” he said.

Prince Jackson also shared that the Heal Los Angeles Foundation is based “around education” and “really trying to improve the quality of life through education of both soft and hard skills.”

He went on to say that they have been “so so fortunate” and “so blessed” to raise as much money as they have to “fund their programs.”

Prince Jackson revealed that they have been planning the Halloween themed event since “November of last year.”

It was also a night to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s album “Thriller” which has sold over 30 million copies and counting.

“The 40th anniversary is a really big monumental achievement and it’s just something we really wanted to really do it right,” he explained.

Michael Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 50 from “lethal levels of the powerful sedative propofol,” given to him by his doctor.

When asked what message he would give to other children who are struggling with the loss of their parent, Prince Jackson said it’s still a “grieving process” for him and doesn’t think any one way to grieve is right.

“You have to do what makes you feel good and whatever helps you deal with the loss of someone you love significantly,” he said.
