Chrissy Teigen revealed the loss of her son in 2020 was actually an abortion to save her life. On Thursday, Teigen spoke at the "A Day of Unreasonable Conversation" summit about her "heartbreaking" decision. "Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention," she told the audience at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, per Fox News. Continuing, she said, "Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion, an abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago." https://twitter.com/chrissyteigen/status/1570786183193698304?cxt=HHwWgIDRtcLtxswrAAAA Teigen explained that she didn't consider the loss of her pregnancy to actually be an abortion until she spoke about Roe v. Wade with husband, John Legend, a few months ago. Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022. "I fell silent, feeling weird that I hadn’t made sense of it that way," she said about the conversation she had with Legend about sympathizing with women who get abortions where he reminded her that she was one of "them," Fox News reports. In September 2020, Teigen announced on her Instagram that she and Legend lost their son, Jack, at 20 weeks. "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough," she wrote in the caption of a black and white photo of her crying in the hospital. She added, "To our Jack - I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you," Psalm 127:3 says, "Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward." Teigen has two children with Legend, Luna, 6, and Miles, 4, and is currently pregnant again. She announced the news on her Instagram in August and expressed her hopefulness about her pregnancy this time around. "I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing," she wrote in the caption.
