House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is feeling confident when it comes to the upcoming midterm elections.

Pelosi held a press conference with Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) on Wednesday where she was asked how she feels her party will do in the 2022 midterm elections.

“I know we’re not here in a political venue. So, I hesitate to go too far down the path. But you asked, two of you asked. And we have absolutely every intention of holding the House,” Pelosi said.

CBS News noted the legislation will likely impact both innovation and scientific research across the nation.

“The Inflation Reduction Act advanced several priorities for many Coloradans including; $5 billion for forest and reforestation investments and wildfire mitigation programs, $4 billion for the Bureau of Reclamation to combat drought conditions across the West, and $2 billion for federal labs throughout the country – with NCAR falling under this jurisdiction,” a press release from Neguse’s office stated.

Earlier this week, NBC reported that several data points suggest Republicans’ hope of an overwhelming victory are “dimming.”

Still, the outlet explained that Republicans do not need a “red wave” to take control.

“But just 70 days from Election Day, Democrats see some hope of defying historical midterm trends against the party in power,” NBC reported.

Additionally, President Joe Biden’s approval rating increased nine points from one month ago reaching 40%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll.

The poll was conducted from August 25 to 29 and surveyed 1,419 respondents.
