Britney Spears’ mom has responded to a since-deleted audio message from her daughter where the singer said she felt abandoned by her mother during her conservatorship.

According to a report by Fox News, Britney Spears released the audio and later deleted it. However, the clip was saved by a number of sources who reported on her musings. During her comments, Brittney Spears reportedly said she felt her mother turned her back on her during the 13 years she was held in a conservatorship imposed by her father.

In her Instagram post that came shortly after the bombshell recording was released, Britney Spears’ mom, Lynne Spears, 67, responded that she would never turn her back on her daughter and she only ever wanted to support her.

“Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes!” Lynne Spears said in the caption of her post. “And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships! I have never and will never turn my back on you!”

The social media post was part of the caption of an old black-and-white photo of the mother and daughter smiling, which went on to say, “Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything. I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only, eye to eye, in private.”

Britney Spears provided background on the court-ordered conservatorship she was placed under in 2008, with her father Jamie Spears serving as her sole conservator until it was terminated in November 2021, in the audio, which has been reposted by several fan accounts on YouTube.

“So I woke up this morning and I realized that there’s a lot going on in my head that I haven’t really shared with anyone really,” Britney Spears says at the beginning of the clip, going on to talk about her conservatorship and why she hasn’t spoken about it during previous interviews.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Britney Spears said she is embarrassed about what people would think but said: “I’m here honestly just to open myself to others and try to shed a light on if anyone out there has ever gone through hardships.

“I’m honestly more angry at my mom because I heard when reporters would call her at the time and ask questions of what was going on she would…hide in the house and she wouldn’t speak up,” Britney Spears said.

“It was always like, ‘I don’t know what to say I just don’t want to say the wrong thing, we’re praying for her.’ I feel like she could have gotten me a lawyer in literally two seconds,” said the singer who just started recording music after over 5 years.

Britney Spears wrapped up her comments by saying, “I’m sharing this because I want people to know I’m only human … If you’re a weird introvert oddball like me who feels alone a lot of the time, and you needed to hear a story like this today, so you don’t feel alone, know that my life has been far from easy and you’re not alone.”
