Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, received backlash over a joke about gender transitioning.

On August 23, Brittany Aldean posted a video on her Instagram where she is seen transforming from a bare face to full makeup and wrote in the caption,  “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

Singer Casadee Pope slammed Brittany Aldean on her Instagram story and Twitter over her statement.

“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their “tomboy phase” to someone wanting to transition. Real nice,” she wrote.

It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.

It’s easier to not castrate your children.
But I guess whatever helps sell bad records.

Singer Maren Morris, who also toured with Casadee Pope, tweeted her own response backing Casadee Pope and calling Brittany Aldean an “Insurrection Barbie.”

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie,” she wrote.

Brittany Aldean then responded to Casadee Pope on her Instagram story writing that, “advocating for the genital mutilation under the disguise of love and calling it ‘Gender Affirming Care,’ is one of the worst evils,” per ENews.

She also responded to Maren Morris on her Instagram story writing, “Karen Morris. Thanks for calling me Barbie.”

Candace Owens, a conservative commentator and friend of Brittany Aldean, came to her defense on Twitter telling Maren Morris, “It’s easier to not castrate your children. But I guess whatever helps sell bad records.”

Candace Owens then took to her Instagram story to call out bullying writing, “Here is what we are no longer doing going into 2023. We are no longer allowing vicious bullies to hide behind LGBTQ flags and BLM banners,” per The Daily Wire.

“We are no longer allowing people to be repeatedly attacked because they don’t support the mutilation of children. That’s the New Year’s resolution for America,” she added.
