Republicans won the game against their Democratic colleagues 10 to 0.

During an interview with Fox News, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said, “This game is so great and people are so nice.”

She added, “That’s what makes it great that we’re competitive and it’s great to be here and have a little fun.”

Pelosi continued, “Sometimes I coach, sometimes I’m the umpire. I have my point of view. But it’s always fun.”

Sanchez’s moment during the game was not the only highlight.

The Washington Post reported that three protesters were arrested and charged with unlawful entry at the game.

Dozens of climate activists showed up demanding action.

Sourish Dey, spokesperson for the activists, told the Post, “We took in-your-face actions because Congress has failed to take serious action.”

Dey added, “They’ve known about this crisis since well before I was born.”

Mike Tidwell, executive director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network and CCAN Action Fund, penned an op-ed for the Post, saying he would be there as a protester.

But, he later issued a statement just hours before the game, as the Post reported.

“We have decided not to protest tonight’s Congressional Baseball Game. Congressional leaders have declared they intend to meet many of our climate and justice demands, so we’ll be attending the game tonight just to urge Congress to seal the deal and to ask Joe Biden to still declare a climate emergency,” the statement said.
