ABC’s “The View” delivered another apology after Turning Point USA (TPUSA) threatened to take legal action over what it called “defamatory statements.”

The apologies started after TPUSA accused the show of “intentionally and falsely associated TPUSA with neo-Nazi protestors” outside an event that took place over the weekend.

It argued that the comments “brought the organization and its student affiliates into disrepute with the public, potential donors, and current and future business partners, posing a significant financial loss to the organization.”

Additionally, the conservative organization sent ABC News a letter demanding an apology and a retraction of the comments and warned failure to comply would lead to legal action, as IJR reported.

On Wednesday, co-host Sara Haines said, “We want to make clear that these demonstrators were gathered outside the event and that they were not invited or endorsed by Turning Point USA.”

However, in a tweet, Turning Point accused co-host Whoopi Goldberg of being “silent” after she claimed the organization metaphorically embraced neo-Nazis.

Goldberg issued her own apology on Thursday as she said, “In Monday’s conversation about Turning Point USA, I put the young people at the conference in the same category as the protesters outside, and I don’t like it when people make assumptions about me, and it’s not any better when I make assumptions about other people, which I did.”

“So, my bad. I’m sorry,” she added.

On Monday, Goldberg noted that the neo-Nazis were “outside protesters.”

However, she said, “My point was more metaphorical. You embraced them at your thing, I felt. They were not in the building.”

“I know they were not in the building, but they were in the mix of people at the thing,” she added.

While they were forced by their legal department to correct two of these misrepresentations live on air, Whoopi continued to insist that TPUSA somehow welcomed “nazis” into our event “metaphorically.” pic.twitter.com/320UV0aH0G

Turning Point spokesman Andrew Kolvet addressed the neo-Nazis in a statement as he said the organization “100% condemns those ideologies in the strongest of terms.”

“Since these individuals were located on public property, our security attempted to, but was not permitted to remove them. We have no idea who they are or why they were here,” he continued.

He added, “Our students, after initially confronting them, ultimately took the mature route and vacated the space. Once that happened, these individuals left.”

Turning Point’s Twitter account also shared a video of attendees confronting the protesters.
