Newly-elected congresswoman Mayra Flores (R-Texas) claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) pushed her daughter during her swearing-in ceremony.

On Sunday, Flores tweeted, “I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen.”

She added, “No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!”

The video appears to show Pelosi pushing her elbow into Flores’ daughter, moving her to the side.

Flores delivered remarks on the House floor after being sworn in.

“I rise today to give a voice to the voiceless,” Flores said.

She added, “To say that the people who live and work in South Texas have had enough. We want to be heard and we are tired of being treated like second-class citizens.”

Flores explained she has “risen from working in the cotton fields to representing the community I love in the United States Congress. And I will give them a voice.”

She continued, “I will use it to say our lives are not a game. Our people deserve to have opportunity, security, and freedom. And I will work every day to give it to them.”

Pelosi said during the ceremony, “It’s a great honor to welcome Congresswoman Flores to the Capitol and to the Congress of the United States with great congratulations.”

She added, “And again, grateful for her leadership and her beautiful family who is here today.”

Additionally, Pelosi thanked Flores for “your courage to run for office and best wishes for your success.”

Flores was sworn in as the first Mexican-born congresswoman.

The congresswoman made headlines when she flipped Texas’s 34th Congressional District red, as The Hill noted.

The seat was previously held by Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela (Texas).
