The Republican Governors Association (RGA) is going after Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, saying she “believes she can spend your money better than you.”

The association released an ad Wednesday morning taking aim at Abrams.

Opening the ad, the narrator claims, “Typical Stacey Abrams. She believes only she knows what’s best.”

Abrams can be heard saying in the ad, “We certainly wouldn’t have been one of the first to reopen.”

The narrator explains, “Small businesses and schools closed. Strict mandates on everyone but herself.”

The ad continues, “Stacey believes she can spend your money better than you. That’s why she’s supported higher gas taxes, a new sales tax, supports higher property taxes.”

Check out the ad below:

“While Governor Brian Kemp was fighting for hardworking families and making Georgia a great place to live, work, and raise a family, Stacey Abrams was openly embracing job-killing and economy-stifling restrictions and pushing her personal agenda rather than putting Georgians first,” RGA Executive Director Dave Rexrode said.

He added, “Georgians can’t afford a state controlled by Abrams, where she believes only she knows what’s best for them.  Abrams is on record saying she will raise your taxes, push a radical agenda, and advance her personal political ambitions rather than do what’s best for the state.”

According to Rexrode, “Just like four years ago, the RGA is committed to reminding voters of Stacey Abrams’ wrong priorities and will ensure she is rejected by voters once again in November.”

The ad comes just one day after Abrams won the Democratic gubernatorial primary in Georgia.

She will face off against incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp after he defeated her in 2018.

Abrams sought to clarify her recent comment suggesting Georgia is the “worst state in the country to live.”

Fox 5 reported Abrams said she made an “inelegant” statement.

Still, she said, “Brian Kemp is a failed governor, who doesn’t care about the people of Georgia.”

Abrams continued, “If you look at his record, if you look at the results under his four years of leadership, there has been failure after failure.”
