Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has landed a job at MSNBC.

In a tweet Tuesday morning, MSNBC’s Public Relations account announced Psaki will be joining the network this fall.

“She will appear across all the network’s programs on cable [and] streaming and will host a new original program for streaming, set to debut in the first quarter of 2023,” it explained.

In a statement, MSNBC President Rashida Jones said, “Jen’s sharp wit and relatability combined with the mastery of the subjects she covers have made her a household name across the nation.”

She continued, “Her extensive experience in government and on the campaign trail and perspective as a White House and Washington insider is the type of analysis that sets MSNBC apart.”

“She’s a familiar face and trusted authority to MSNBC viewers, and we look forward to her insight during this consequential election season,” Jones added.

Psaki said in a statement, “My time in government, from the White House to the State Department, and years before that on national political campaigns will fuel the insight and perspective I bring to this next chapter.”

“I can’t wait to create a space on streaming where we break down the facts, get to the bottom of what’s driving the issues and hopefully have some fun along the way,” she added.

Axios reported in April that Psaki was in discussions with MSNBC about joining the network after leaving the White House.

After that report was published, the then-press secretary declined to confirm that she was considering joining the network.

“I have nothing to confirm about my length of public service or planned service or anything about consideration about next plans,” she told reporters.

Psaki continued, “I’m very happy to be standing with all of you here today after it felt like a never-ending time in my basement quarantining away from my family.”

“My focus every day continues to be speaking on behalf of the president,” she added.

Psaki served as President Joe Biden’s press secretary from Jan. 2021 to May 13, 2022.

In announcing her replacement, Biden said, “Jen Psaki has set the standard for returning decency, respect, and decorum to the White House Briefing Room. I want to say thank you to Jen for raising the bar, communicating directly and truthfully to the American people, and keeping her sense of humor while doing so.”

“I thank Jen [for] her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward,” the president added.
