Co-host of ABC’s “The View” Whoopi Goldberg is back on the show after a two-week suspension over controversial comments she made about the Holocaust.

On Monday, Goldberg opened the show saying, “Welcome to The View, and yes, I am back.”

She went on to say there is “something kind of marvelous about being on a show like this” and noted that the hosts don’t always discuss topics as “eloquently as we could.”

The co-host also thanked people who reached out to her while she was on suspension, including those from “places that made me go, ‘Wait, wait, what? Really? Okay.'”

“And it was amazing, and I listened to everything everybody had to say, and I was very grateful. And I hope it keeps all the important conversations happening because we’re going to keep having tough conversations. And, in part, because this is what we’ve been hired to do. And it’s not always pretty, as I said, and it’s not always as other people would like to hear,” she added.

Goldberg found herself in hot water earlier this month over comments she made about the Holocaust in which she insisted it was “not about race.”

The co-host apologized for her comments in a statement. She said, “The Jewish people around the world have always had my support, and that will never waiver. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused.”

Kim Godwin, the president of ABC News, later announced Goldberg would receive a two-week suspension from the show.

“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities,” Godwin said in the statement.
