Former President Donald Trump is touting the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines available.

During an interview with Trump, The Daily Wire’s Candance Owens noted that more people have died from the coronavirus in 2021 compared to 2020.

“More people have died under Covid this year, by the way, under Joe Biden than under you. And more people took the vaccine this year, so people are questioning,” Owens began.

Trump responded, “Well, no, the vaccines work, but people aren’t taking it. The ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones who don’t take the vaccine. But it’s still their choice, and if you take the vaccine, you’re protected.”

“Look, the results of the vaccine are very good. And if you do get it, it’s a very minor form. People aren’t dying when they take the vaccine,” he added.

During an event on Sunday with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, Trump was asked if he received a booster shot for the virus.

“Yes,” he responded.

As some members of the crowd began to boo, Trump said, “Don’t, don’t, don’t, no. That’s, it’s a very tiny group over there.”

Trump encouraged the crowd to tout the coronavirus vaccines as he said, “We did something that was historic. We saved tens of millions of lives worldwide.”

“Take credit for it. It’s great, what we’ve done is historic. Don’t let them take it away…you’re playing right into their hands when you’re sort of like, ‘oh, the vaccine.’ If you don’t want to take it, you shouldn’t be forced to take — no mandates. But take credit because we saved tens of millions of lives. Take credit. Don’t let them take that away from you,” he added.
