New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) time as governor is coming to an end, but former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani does not think his career is over.

During Wednesday’s interview on WABC, Giuliani was asked what he predicts Cuomo will do next.

“Andrew will resurrect himself in some way,” the former mayor responded. “He’s a very, very tough guy, determined guy. This had to be a terrible blow.”

He continued, “He’s a fighter, so he’ll find some way to resurrect himself.”

The former mayor of New York City suggested that Attorney General Letitia James (D) should “immediately resign” as he hinted at speculation that she is eyeing a run for the statehouse.

Giuliani noted that two of the three most recent New York governors were previously attorney general and resigned amid scandal.

Cuomo and former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D) served as attorney general before becoming governor.

He also pointed that former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D) resigned from his position amid allegations of sexual assault.

Earlier in the interview, Giuliani blasted James for releasing a report that found Cuomo sexually harassed women but not prosecuting him.

He also seemed to speculate that the pressure for Cuomo to step down amid sexual harassment allegations could have been politically motivated to avoid scrutiny of his handling COVID-19 in nursing homes.

Cuomo was facing bipartisan calls for his resignation and the prospect of impeachment after James’ report on allegations of sexual harassment.

On Tuesday, Cuomo announced he would step down as governor in 14 days, as IJR reported.

The state Assembly’s Judiciary Committee launched an impeachment inquiry into the sexual harassment allegations, and a law firm selected by the committee has also been looking into the Cuomo administration’s handling of COVID-19 in nursing homes and allegations that he misused state resources while writing a memoir.

There has been some speculation that Cuomo, who has $18 million in his campaign war chest, may attempt a comeback and run for governor again in 2022.
