Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is railing against a reported proposal put forth by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to apparently remove her from one of her committees amid her past controversial comments.

In a thread of tweets on Wednesday, Greene blasted McCarthy’s reported offer to remove her from the Education and Labor Committee if Democrats are willing to back down from a vote to remove her from that committee as well as the Budget Committee.

“No matter what [Kevin McCarthy] does it would never be enough for the hate America Democrats. As much as he genuinely tries to work with [Speaker Pelosi] for the good of this country, she refuses to see the hypocrisy of her own conference,” Greene tweeted.

She continued, “They are only set out to destroy Republicans, your jobs, our economy, your children’s education and lives, steal our freedoms, and erase God’s creation. And the bloodthirsty media are their henchmen who help them by relentlessly attacking anyone in their path.”

House Republicans are expected to be faced as to whether to discipline Greene on Wednesday, as IJR reported.

House Democrats are moving toward advancing legislation to remove Greene from her committees if Republicans did not act.

More recently, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) indicated House Democrats plan to hold a vote on Thursday to remove Greene from her committee assignments.

Greene has received harsh criticism from some Republicans.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) told reporters on Tuesday, “We should have nothing to do with Marjorie Taylor Greene. We should repudiate the things she said and move away from her.”

He added, “Our long history as a party has shown we should separate ourselves from people in the wacky weeds.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called Greene’s embrace of “loony lies and conspiracy theories” a “cancer for the Republican Party.” He did not mention Greene by name in the statement.

Greene has pushed conspiracy theories suggesting the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida were staged, along with several others.
