President Donald Trump is recognizing there will be an end to his term as president.

White House deputy chief of staff for communications and social media director Dan Scavino posted Trump’s statement on Twitter around 4 a.m. EST on Thursday regarding the electoral certification — which cemented Joe Biden’s win.

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump vowed.

The president continued, “I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

His remarks came shortly after Congress certified Biden’s win.

Trump’s Twitter account was temporarily locked at the time Scavino posted the statement for “repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy,” as IJR reported on. His account will be locked for 12 hours following the removal of three tweets that violated the Twitter rules.

Trump supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. This came right after Trump spoke at a “Save America” rally in Washington, D.C., where he said, “You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”

Biden tweeted on Wednesday evening, “Today is a reminder, a painful one, that democracy is fragile. To preserve it requires people of good will, leaders with the courage to stand up, who are devoted not to pursuit of power and personal interest at any cost, but to the common good.”
