George Conway, a conservative attorney and co-founder of the Lincoln Project, is responding to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows after he mentioned the number of GOP leaders who are planning on objecting to the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

“We’re now at well over 100 House members and a dozen Senators ready to stand up for election integrity and object to certification. It’s time to fight back,” Meadows wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

Conway responded, “You’re a moron and a disgrace.”

Earlier last month, Conway tore into President Donald Trump for his continued efforts to overturn the election, as IJR previously reported.

“This is officially over. This has been over for a long time,” Conway said during an appearance on CNN.

He called Republicans who were backing Trump in his refusal to concede an “embarrassment.”

Conway added, “The biggest election fraud of the 2020 cycle, it didn’t happen in any voting booth or in any mail-in drop box. It’s happening now with these people peddling the lie that [Donald Trump] won the election.”

A group of senators announced on Saturday they are planning on rejecting “electors from disputed states” unless Congress creates an Electoral Commission to investigate their allegations of voter fraud.

“We are not naïve. We fully expect most if not all Democrats, and perhaps more than a few Republicans, to vote otherwise. But support of election integrity should not be a partisan issue,” the senators wrote.

They continued, “A fair and credible audit-conducted expeditiously and completed well before January 20-would dramatically improve Americans’ faith in our electoral process and would significantly enhance the legitimacy of whoever becomes our next President. We owe that to the People.”

Vice President Mike Pence said in a statement he supports their decision to object to the votes.

“The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th,” the statement released by Pence’s chief of staff, Marc Short, reads.
