President-elect Joe Biden is blasting Georgia Sens. David Perdue (R) and Kelly Loeffler (R) for supporting a push to disenfranchise the votes of roughly 5 million Georgia voters.

During a campaign event for Democratic Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock on Tuesday, Biden took aim at the Republican incumbents for stating their support for a lawsuit brought by Texas that sought to throw out election results in four battleground states that Trump lost.

“You know who did nothing while Trump, Texas, and others were trying to wipe out every single one of the almost 5 million votes you had cast here in Georgia in November?” Biden asked.

He continued, “Your two Republican senators. They stood by. In fact, your two Republican senators fully embraced what Texas was telling the Supreme Court.”

Loeffler and Perdue said they “fully support” a lawsuit filed by Texas that asked the Supreme Court to toss out the votes in Georgia, and three other states, due to changes made to those states’ voting rules due to the pandemic.

The Supreme Court on Friday night declined to hear the case.

“I’ll try to be generous here in the spirit of the season. Maybe your senators were just confused. Maybe they think they represent Texas. Well, if you want to do the bidding of Texas, you should be running in Texas, not in Georgia,” Biden said.

He added, “Because you know what, we got a couple of folks running for the United States Senate in this state who aren’t confused at all. Jon Ossoff, Raphael Warnock, they’re running to represent Georgia.”

Georgia voters will go to the polls on Jan 5, 2021, to vote in a pair of runoff Senate elections that will determine the balance of power in the Senate. If Ossoff and Warnock win their elections, there will be a 50-50 split in the upper chamber with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris able to cast the tie-breaking vote.
