It is more than two weeks after the Nov. 3 general election, and President Donald Trump and his campaign are continuing to claim that there was widespread fraud that tilted the results in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

Last week, lawyers for the campaign held a press conference to lay out unfounded and baseless claims that the fraud was organized across several states.

During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) was asked if it is time for Trump to stop contesting the results and concede the election.

“Yes,” Christie responded. “The president has had an opportunity to access the courts, and I said to you, you know George, starting at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, if you’ve got the evidence of fraud, present it.”

He added, “And what’s happened here is quite frankly, the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment.”

Christie continued to noted that Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell accused Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) of a crime related to the election. However, she has been “being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has.”

“This is outrageous conduct by any lawyer and notice George, they won’t do it inside the courtroom,” he added.

Christie explained that while Trump campaign lawyers have used press conferences to claim that there was fraud, they have not been arguing that there was fraud in court.

Additionally, he argued that the campaign has an “obligation” to present their evidence of fraud.

“I’ve been a supporter of the president. I voted for him twice, but elections have consequences, and we cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn’t happen. You have an obligation to present the evidence. The evidence has not been presented.”

He continued, “I said it on election night, and I hope more say it going forward because the country is what has to matter the most as much as I’m a strong Republican, and I love my party, it’s the country that has to come first.”
