First Lady Melania Trump will join the 2020 campaign trail as Election Day nears.

The president’s reelection campaign announced that the first lady will headline an event in Atglen, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday at 3 p.m. EST. The event will be moderated by 2016 campaign manager and former White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway.

Conway told Fox News in response to the announcement, “Melania Trump’s solo visit to Pennsylvania in the final days of the 2016 campaign was pivotal to winning the state — and winning the election.”

“Now she returns as first lady, to highlight how her platform has helped Pennsylvanians and to make the case for four more years of freedom, opportunity, prosperity and security,” she added.

Additionally, Trump 2020 senior adviser for strategic communications Mercedes Schlapp also told the outlet, “We are excited to have first lady Melania Trump on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania to connect with voters in the Keystone State and share President Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda.”

Schlapp continued:

“Mrs. Trump has fought to empower the hardworking men and women of Pennsylvania, and this event will be a perfect opportunity to discuss the future success in the state under four more years of President Trump.”

The first lady was previously expected to join Donald Trump on the campaign trail at a rally in Pennsylvania, but she had a lingering cough — following her coronavirus diagnosis — so those plans were nixed. She has since recovered from COVID-19.

She did, however, attend the last presidential debate between Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The are eight days until Election Day, as of Monday.
