First Lady Melania Trump is no longer planning to join her husband, President Donald Trump, in Pennsylvania for a campaign rally on Tuesday.

Her chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, told the Washington Examiner, she will have to wait a little longer to step back into the campaign trail due to a lingering cough she has been dealing with just weeks after she tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Grisham, the decision was made out of an abundance of caution.

Melania Trump’s appearance would have marked her first in-person campaign event since the Republican National Convention in August, as IJR previously reported.

Just a few days after she tested positive, she told the American people she was “feeling good” and “will continue to rest at home.”

She detailed her experience with COVID-19 in a post titled “My personal experience with COVID-19,” as IJR previously reported.

Melania Trump revealed their son Barron also tested positive.

“In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together. He has since tested negative,” she said.

Her symptoms included body aches, a cough, headaches, and feeling tired most of the time.

The president boasted of his COVID-19 recovery during a campaign rally in Arizona.

“I’m here. And now I’m immune. I can jump into this audience and kiss every man and woman. I’m immune,” he said on Monday. “I woke up and I felt good. I said, ‘Get me out of here.’ Boom. Superman.”

The crowd began to chant “Superman! Superman!”

Trump will continue to campaign in Pennsylvania.

He will attend the last presidential debate with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Thursday night after the second was canceled because Trump refused to debate Biden virtually.

The last debate will be held less than two weeks before the presidential election.
