Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway sounded off about President Donald Trump prior to his departure from the anti-Trump initiative.

In a previously recorded interview for the upcoming Lincoln Project documentary “#Unfit,” Conway expressed concern about Trump’s character and leadership.

He recalled Trump’s first presidential run as he admitted Trump wasn’t his first Republican choice.

“Donald Trump wasn’t my first choice among the Republican nominees, but I was hopeful that he would calm down and get better as time went on,” Conway said during the interview.

At one point during the interview, Conway even compared Trump to “a practical joke that got out of hand.”

“The problem was, once he got into the supreme position of power, he lost some of his incentive to be disciplined,” he said, adding, “And I’m thinking at this point in time: What’s wrong with him? Donald Trump is like a practical joke that got out of hand.”

Conway went on to share his reaction to Trump’s many remarks that have been described as racist.

He noted the president’s previous remarks suggesting Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) “go back” to places where he believes they came from.

Conway reflected on a time in his life where his mother, who was of Filipino descent, was also a victim of racism. According to Conway, Trump is “racist” and “evil.”

“What he said about those members of Congress brought back that memory of, wow, there really are people like that here. I was with my mother when I was a teenager in a parking lot in Massachusetts, and somebody said to her, ‘Go back to your country,’” Conway said, becoming emotional. “And I found that to be … it really came home to me: This man is a racist, he is evil.”
