Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) is offering his thoughts on what Republicans should do after President Donald Trump leaves office, while there is speculation Hogan is eyeing a 2024 run for president.

Chuck Todd, host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” asked Hogan what he makes of the future of the Republican party and if there is room for Hogan if Trump wins a second term.

Hogan argued that regardless of the outcome in November, Americans are still frustrated with the politics and divisiveness in Washington.

He explained both parties are going to be reexamining what the future looks like for them.

“I don’t know what the future holds in November, but I know that the Republican party is going to be looking at what happens after President Trump, whether that’s in four months or four years,” Hogan said.

He added, “I think they are going to be looking to how do we go about becoming a bigger tent Party.”

Hogan pointed to his reelection in 2018 as an example of how he reached out to find the middle ground where Americans can come together and avoid divisive rhetoric.

He reiterated this is something the Republican Party is going to have to be willing to do.

“I think that’s something the Republican Party is going to have to look to. We’re going to have to find a way to appeal to more people and have a bigger tent,” Hogan said.

Hogan sat down with The New York Times on Tuesday to announce a virtual book tour for his new memoir, “Still Standing: Surviving Cancer, Riots, a Global Pandemic, and the Toxic Politics that Divide America,” and a possible presidential run for 2024, as IJR previously reported.

Hogan also said he is not interested in a run for the U.S. Senate in 2022.

His virtual book tour will be held from July 29 to August 11.
