President Donald Trump is taking a swing at states led by Democrats as protests calling for the end to police brutality and racial injustice continue across the nation.

During a roundtable event in Florida on Friday, Trump made his feelings clear about how Democrats are responding to the social unrest.

“When you see what’s going on in some of these Democrat-run cities, all Democrat-run cities, in every case, they’re going to hell,” Trump said.

He added, “And we’re doing a lot of things to get that changed and we’re going to get it changed very quickly.”

Trump called the Republican party the “party of freedom” and the Democratic party the “party of socialism and worse.”

He went on to point out the recent efforts to tear down monuments or statues that some believe represent racism.

Trump discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) recent comments on the actions of protesters.

During her weekly press conference on Thursday, Pelosi was asked if it should be left to communities to decide if these monuments should be removed, as IJR previously reported.

“People will do what they do,” Pelosi replied.

Trump argued Pelosi has no control over what is happening.

“The reason she said that is because she has no control over it. She didn’t say it because she really believed it,” Trump said.

He added, “She said it because she has absolutely no control over what these people are doing and we do.”

Pelosi previously advocated for the removal of representations of Confederate leaders from the Capitol.

On July 3, Trump issued an executive order protecting monuments, statues, and memorials.

Trump moved on to note the Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone, also known as CHOP, had been dismantled in Seattle.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced on July 1, Seattle had been “liberated,” as IJR previously reported.
