President Donald Trump’s Thursday night appearance on Sean Hannity’s show came as the commander-in-chief is trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls on six battleground states, but the nation is still a few long months away from the ballot boxes in November.

Asked what his priorities are for a second term, Trump seemed to stay away from specifics, telling Hannity, “Well, one of the things, that will be really great, you know the word experience is still really good. I always say talent is more important than experience, I’ve always said that. But the word experience is a very important word, it’s a very important meaning.”

He continued, “I never did this before, I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington I think 17 times, all of the sudden I’m president of the United States. You know the story, I’m riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our First Lady and I say, ‘This is great’. But I didn’t know many people in Washington, I was from Manhattan, from New York.”

Trump added”

“Now I know everybody and I have great people in the administration. You make some mistakes like, you know, an idiot like Bolton. All he wanted to do is drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to kill people.”

Here’s a clip of that exchange:

Trump’s feud with his former National Security advisor John Bolton has been a mainstay in the news cycle as Bolton published a book earlier this week detailing his time in the White House.

Trump has tried to sue to keep the book from being published, saying that his former aide is publishing classified material. A judge shot down Trump’s lawsuit to keep the book from going to shelve. However, the judge also noted that Bolton’s book raises concerns.
