Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) is searching for a vice president pick and one former presidential hopeful is expressing willingness to accept the position.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) confirmed she would be Biden’s running mate if asked. Her confirmation comes shortly after she endorsed Biden, as IJR previously reported.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow asked Warren if she would take the job and Warren gave her a concise answer.

“Yes,” Warren said.

Biden is reportedly considering between six and a dozen vice president picks, and they are all women. He is set to appoint a committee this month to help with the selection process.

He has received advice from former President Barack Obama who recently endorsed him, as IJR previously reported.

Warren told Maddow it “is the right time” to endorse Biden.

She explained how she was happy to do it.

“Now Sen. Sanders has endorsed, President Barack Obama has endorsed, and I was very, very glad to do it today,” Warren said.

Warren went on to support her claim Biden is going to be a good president because “he is fundamentally a good man.”

She listed the attributes she believes will make Biden the right man for the job.

“He is prepared for an emergency, he will fight for every human being, and most of all he’s a person who has empathy,” Warren said.

She alleged President Donald Trump is using the current coronavirus crisis the nation is facing to advance his own interests.

Warren reiterated that she believes Biden is a leader this nation needs right now.

“He’s a man who has a good heart and that’s what we need in a leader. Someone who is steady, who is prepared, but ultimately who cares not just about himself but cares about everyone else,” Warren said.
