Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) is garnering another endorsement from a former 2020 Democratic hopeful.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) tossed her support behind Biden for president on Wednesday, as he aims to take on President Donald Trump in November’s general election. Her endorsement follows after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) ended his campaign on April 8 — he has since endorsed Biden.

“In this moment of crisis, it’s more important than ever that the next president restores Americans’ faith in good, effective government — and I’ve seen Joe Biden help our nation rebuild,” Warren wrote in a post on her endorsement.

She added, “Today, I’m proud to endorse [Joe Biden] as President of the United States.”

In an email to supporters, Warren wrote:

“Joe Biden has spent nearly his entire life in public service. He knows that a government run with integrity, competence, and heart will save lives and save livelihoods. And we can’t afford to let Donald Trump continue to endanger the lives and livelihoods of every American.”

Now it’s up to all of us to help make @JoeBiden the next president. Let’s get to work. Go to https://t.co/HrbPj2qctA right now, and chip in your $5, make some calls, send some texts—because we are all in this together.

Biden wrote in a statement in response to Warren’s endorsement:

“At a moment of crisis for our nation, Senator Warren’s ideas will be more important than ever as we chart a path forward. […] We know how much work it will take to come through this crisis, and I am proud to have Senator Warren in my corner for the fight ahead — not just as we work to defeat Donald Trump in November, but in the years to come, as we push through a bold and progressive policy agenda for the American people.”

Additionally, Warren’s endorsement follows former President Barack Obama’s official endorsement of Biden.

“Our country’s future hangs on this election, and it won’t be easy,” Obama said in a video on Tuesday.

Biden thanked Obama for his support “both politically and personally” following the endorsement, as IJR reported.
