Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci raised questions about President Donald Trump’s mental health after the president stumbled over his words at a rally in New Jersey.

On Tuesday, Trump held a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, to support Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s (R-N.J.) re-election.

While Trump was talking about illegal immigration and blasting Democrats for their immigration policies, he tripped over the word “criminal.”

Trump said, “No American should ever be hurt, harmed, or killed because left-wing politicians, Democrats, decided shield and shelter crimin-cle — look, look, wait.”

After seeing a video of the moment, Scaramucci questioned Trump’s mental:

“This is concerning. Wondering how long this can be ignored. Is there anyone left in his team that cares about his health and mental acuity?”

Scaramucci is far from the first person to raise questions about Trump’s mental health. Late last year, Yale psychiatrist Bandy Lee suggested that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could submit Trump an involuntary mental health evaluation, as IJR has previously reported.

“As a coworker, [Pelosi] has the right to have him submit to an involuntary evaluation, but she has not. Anyone can call 911 to report someone who seems dangerous, and family members are the most typical ones to do so. But so can coworkers, and even passersby on the street,” Lee said.

The psychiatrist added that she believes a mental health hold “will become inevitable.”

Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway previously dismissed questions about Trump’s mental health, “This shouldn’t be dignified with a response.”

Scaramucci was the White House Communications Director for 11 days in 2017. His brief tenure in the position ended after a phone call with a reporter, where he ripped into other White House staffers, was published in The New Yorker.

Last year, Scaramucci broke from the president and said Trump is “unfit for office,” and he can “no longer in good conscience support the president’s re-election.” Now. Scaramucci’s pinned tweet calls on Americans to “Stop this Orange Maniac.”
